TwinTone II

The Koch Twintone II is a gigging guitarists dream.  Its compact size and relative light weight, disguise the power, versatility and ease of use this amplifier has to offer.  Two EL34 Power Tubes supply 50 watts of power….more than enough to drive any of the Koch extension speakers.  A well defined ‘Clean’ channel makes way for the new ‘low gain’ Overdrive channel and the high gain Overdrive+, and takes the user from a pristine clean sound through exciting ‘crunch’ tones to saturated overdrive with infinite sustain.  The new ‘Gain’ knob is a powerful feature combining Drive (OD) and Gain Boost in one knob.  This guarantees well dimensioned boost in every position of the knob when switching from OD-OD+.  The ‘Bright Clean’ guitar input trims the mids somewhat for humbucking pickups and makes sure the pure tone of the Twintone II is available for all types of guitar pickups.  Our built in Power Soak allows the amp to be run at a full 50 watts, 25 watts or 0 watts for headphone and/or recording purposes, and the Koch ‘Solo/Rhythm’ feature gives the user two adjustable and foot switchable master volume settings.  The Accutronics long tank spring reverb has a level control on the back panel for just the right amount of effect; and as with all Koch amps, there is a Direct Out for recording/PA that can be used with or without the speaker engaged.

The Classictone

The Classictone is a conscious deviation from the rest of the Koch line, combining traditional tube tone with modern versatility via the 5 button foot switch.  The power amp is equipped with a tube rectifier simulation circuit, and delivers 40 soft-clipping watts via the two EL34 power tubes. The Clean channel has a pronounced and articulate midrange that literally blossoms with the open back and the VG10-25 Alnico speakers.  The Overdrive channel is incredibly lively and provides the user with a wide palette of blues and rock tones. There are Master Presence and Reverb controls that cover both channels, as well as an authentic Vibrato (for both channels) with speed and depth controls on the front panel.  The Effects Loop, Master Volume and Vibrato can be bypassed completely with relays controlled by the foot switch. Bypassing all three effects leaves a pure uncompromised tube circuit that produces an incredibly open and dynamic tone. The 10”  VG10-25 Alnico speakers deliver a magical sound that allows the user to explore the jazz/blues/R&B and classic rock world with confidence, and the Accutronics long tank reverb only adds to the incredible vintage vibe of the Classictone.
